All throughout Lancaster County, there are numerous outdoor farmer's markets. Fresh food and homemade pastries, along with amish crafts and furniture, are often available at the markets.
When you're in the mood to shop, take a stroll along Route 30 East. You'll find the outlet centers for great discounts on brand-name goods and clothing, as well as all the traditional shopping stores and malls (Target, Barnes & Noble, etc.). It's not far and a beautiful drive along Route 30 East into King of Prussia if you'd like to visit and shop at the one of the best and largest malls in the United States!
If you're interested in traveling a little bit north of Lancaster city, the absolutely lovely town of Lititz is not to be missed, and Ephrata is another great place to visit.
A little bit to the west of Lancaster City is the town of Hershey, and with the famous Hershey Amusement Park and Hershey Chocolate Factory there, you'll have a great time in Hershey!
Harrisburg is only about forty-five minutes directly west of Lancaster City. So, if you'd like to experience and learn about our state capital, it's a short jaunt to get there!
